AMD's Future journey

AMD is struggling until now to satisfy the power user community with it's under performing processors compared to it's arch rival INTEL.Intel seems to have got the maximum out from it's nehalam architecture, killer performance.Amd is at it's mercy by selling chips having extreme Value For Money.Indeed that's why i've bought a brand new hp laptop with it's sticker(with it's heat ofcourse :-) ).Now the situation again reminds me of the early 90's where it undertook another company to escape it's overnight bankruptcy, fighting with intel. In 2004 it's ingenious 64 bit architecture(amd 64) won many laurels and paved the way for industry, which even the mighty giant had followed rather than creating it's own architecture.Such a brilliant piece it is.They cleverly implemented the 48 bit register system rather than trying for the distant pure 64 bit registers. But it lost ground later on.Now again it seems that another such scenario is going to happen with Amd betting on APU(accelerated processing unit) formed by fusing the cpu and gpu effectively while intel is going on another route with it's larrebee.Amd is going to release two new architecture's known Bobcat and Bulldozer for the ultra thins and ultra performance.Let's where times take them.
